This year's May Day holiday has seen a growing trend in "Canton-style cultural vacations," drawing increasing public enthusiasm. Data showed that on May 1st, 80 key public cultural institutions tracked by the government welcomed 181,000 visits, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.4%.
Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theater launched a special "Cantonese Opera +" initiative that integrates traditional opera with tourism, breaking through the conventional theater setting by bringing performances into familiar urban scenes. During the May Day holiday, "zhezixi" (highlights from operas) such as "Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon"(Hua Hao Yue Yuanin Chinese) were performed daily at noon in renowned local teahouses. On May 1st and May 5th, the theater collaborated with Yuexiu Park to present special public performances. Dressed in full costume, performers staged immersive shows beneath the ancient city tower of Yuexiu Park, blending traditional opera with garden landscapes.
Guangzhou Opera House also introduced immersive experiences for its audience. Among them, theimmersive comic opera"Le Docteur Miracle" offered five themed sessions, such as"Urban Stage Specials," bringing a unique "Opera+Tourism" experience. In addition, the opera house's inclined column spaceon the first floor featured an interactive installation titled "Life Opera: Role Symphony", allowing visitors to customize their own "opera life" and enjoy the thrill of creative expression.
Guangzhou Cultural & Art Centre hosted various events, such as a tea culture aesthetics fair and a Hanfu-themed feihualing, an ancient poetry citing game. Statistics showed that over the first three days of the holiday, the center received more than 35,000 visits.

广东：“五一”假期，文化体验受青睐
今年“五一”假期，“广式文化假日”越来越受到人们的推崇。数据显示，5月1日，广东纳入监测的80个重点公共文化机构共接待市民游客18.1万人次，同比增长6.4%。
广州粤剧院特别推出“粤剧+”文旅融合项目，打破传统剧场边界，在市民熟悉的城市生活场景中植入粤剧表演元素。”五一“假期每天中午12点，由粤剧演员在知名茶楼演出《花好月圆》等折子戏。在5月1日和5日，广州粤剧院还联合越秀公园秀名城特别推出粤剧公益专场。演员身着戏服置身在越秀公园的古城楼下，结合园林景观进行沉浸式演出。
广州大剧院也为观众提供了沉浸式体验活动。其中，沉浸式喜歌剧《神奇医生》设置“城市舞台专场”等五大主题专场，为观众带来“歌剧+文旅”的独特体验。此外，广州大剧院一楼的斜柱空间还开放“人生歌剧角色交响”互动装置，游客可以定制个人专属的“歌剧人生”，过一把歌剧创作瘾。
广州市文化馆推出了如茶文化美学市集、汉服飞花令等活动。据统计，假期前三天，广州市文化馆接待参观游客逾3.5万人次。
